On the 18th November 2016, Blue Cliff Media won New Start Business of the Year at the WeDo Scotland awards.
I was absolutely delighted to have won the award and I totally didn’t expect it. There’s a big ‘thing’ in the agency world of applying for every award going, but that’s something we’ve not done at all. It was a big surprise to find out I had been nominated for the award a few months ago.
I had to go through two application forms, a video submission and an in-person interview before reaching the final 2. We were up against tough opposition with Sara Roberts from Healthy Nibbles.
I honestly did not think we would win. But I’m delighted to have won.
Like many business owners, I’ve been stuck in my own little bubble over the last couple of years. Working hard and putting everything I’ve got into the business. It’s so easy to get sucked into your own little world.
When you do that, it’s very hard to look at how far you’ve come and what you’ve achieved.
But when you win an award, like this, it forces you to take a step back and look at what you’ve achieved. It forces you to look at how far you’ve come. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved over the last 1.5 years and winning the award gives me the confidence that what we’re doing is working. Even if I don’t noticed our wins – other people are.
It’s a huge honour to have won the award and it’s the perfect way to end what’s been a huge journey of a year for Blue Cliff Media. Bring on 2017!
