4 Books Every Entrepreneur Should Read In 2021

Subtle Art of not giving a F

Does anyone else have a book buying problem but never actually read them?

I certainly did!

In 2018 I set myself a challenge to read more.

Why? Simply because I wanted to learn more about life, marketing & business.

In this article & video, I share with you 4 of my favourite MUST read books for entrepreneurs.

So lets get started…

1. DotCom Secrets

DotCom Secrets Funnel Build by Russell Brunson

Hands down the best marketing book I’ve ever read. At first I was a little nervous of this one! I thought this could be a bit guru-ey… I was wrong.

It talks about the psychology, relationship building and communication. Some really actionable stuff, things you can highlight and take away and implement.

One of the great points in DotCom Secrets is when you are talking in marketing terms don’t just tell your audience things to do, tell them a story. Things they can really relate to.

I studied it, made notes and made a list of things I wanted to go and implement.

An absolute game changer for my business. You can read more about that here.

2. Shine

Shine by Gavin Oattes & Andy Cope
Shine is a self help book with a difference.

It’s written by my good friend Gavin Oattes and his co-author Andy Cope.

The title really says it all. It’s filled with parables and stories which make you smile and SHINE from the inside.

It’s so amazingly written – you feel you are having a conversation with the authors on really relatable topics which are not only thought provoking but humorous too.

One of the main things in this book which stood out for me was the the idea that there are people in life that are just like Mary Poppins… you know, the ones that light up any room.

And in life, YOU can be Mary Poppins and be the positive influence in peoples lives.

Every time Lauren & I are out and about we now make a cautious effort to be like Mary Poppins… trying to put smiles on people’s faces 🙂

A really feel good book – highly recommend. We LOVE it.

3. Lost & Founder

Lost And Founder by Rand Fishkin

Rand Fishkin is the founder of the company Moz and is very well known in the marketing space.

What’s really refreshing is he talks about his missed opportunities and the bad stuff that comes along with being an entrepreneur or founder.

‘Cause let’s face it – we’ve all been there.

It’s interesting to see someone so successful show his vulnerability. Just like anyone else.

If you are interested in the tech world or online marketing this if definitely a book to check out.

4. Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*ck

Subtle Art of not giving a F by Mark Manson

This was actually a book that Lauren purchased and she couldn’t put it down from day 1.

I noticed The Subtle Art was listed top of the charts in every book shop I went into and I can now see why.

As I couldn’t put this book down either – Thanks Loz 🙂

It’s a self help book (I do love a good self help book) written in a completely different way.

Packed with real life relatable stuff; both the good and the bad.

The author, Mark Manson, brings you back down to earth.

Stressed? scared? Anxious? Why give a F…?

It’s great for really making you think about what actually matters in life, especially when running a business.

There we go… that is my 4 favourite books of 2018. Books that all entrepreneurs should read.

They have taught me A LOT.

This year I’ve set the goal of studying (rather than reading) 12 books.

1 book per month and going deep with it. No passive reading.

Like, proper nerdy highlighter-in-bed type stuff

Reading and learning is great, but implementation is key.

So get started! These really will make the difference 🙂
